I was born and raised in Aberdeen. I left for college and returned 10 years later when I started having children. Returning to my home town and not knowing anyone was very daunting. I was used to staying home all day with my daughter and honestly, reaching out was scary, stressful, and at the time not something I was not very interested in.

I received a few different invitations to Hub City Moms, and it took a couple YEARS before I finally attended my first meeting in the Spring of 2018. The first meeting was nerve racking and a little overwhelming, but I really felt like the Women there were genuine and that alone helped me decide to return. I have attended meetings regularly since then and have been on the steering committee for 2 years.

The group has given me some forever friends and helped me grow as a person and as a Mom! - Amanda Perrion

When my family moved to Aberdeen in 2014 I was pregnant with our 2nd son, and very nervous that I was about to have a baby in a cold weather climate with absolutely no friends or connections. I searched online to see if there were any local Moms groups to attend, and found MOPS (now Hub City Moms). The first week I attended I made friends, scheduled play dates, and instantly felt more connected to our community. Through the years many of my closest friends have been formed through this group, and my kids always look forward to the childcare time so they can play with their friends. I'm so thankful for the community, the encouragement, and the friendships that Hub City Moms has provided. - Bethany Russell

My husband and I moved to Aberdeen two weeks before our oldest was born. I was new to staying at home and motherhood and spent the first few months adjusting. One Sunday morning while visiting a church I ended up in the nursing moms room and met a mom who invited me to attend MOPS with her the next day. She drove to my apartment so I could follow her and made sure I was checked in and met the other moms right away. I’m so thankful Jenna did that for me! I’ve met so many women in the community through Hub City Moms and am constantly running into moms at Wal-mart or the library that I know. The meetings are relaxing for me since I know my children are being well taken care of and breakfast has already been made. Sitting around a table chatting with friends is wonderful too! - Emily Shaffer
